A3. Islamic religious rituals i.e. to get him\her bathed (Ghusul) and then Kafan i.e. to cover him in white clothes and then to pray for him\her. These are the main religious steps we do here at Nagoya Mosque. And for burial services, it depends to the situation. If the person is to be buried in his\her home country the arrangements are made with the concerned people to take the body back home. Q5. Why pork is prohibhited ?
A5. What we need to know in Islam is that we obey Allah’s law whether we know the reasons behind or not. As believers we obey our Lord. The scientific researchers have evidences that show the harmful of Pork meat and its negative effects. For example, here in Japan they eat (sushi) raw fish, raw meat, raw chicken, raw horse meat but they do not eat raw pork. Why? Because without cooking pork they can’t eat it. It has a lot of bacterias that are very harmful. For more detailed knowledge you can read books about this issue. You can request from Islamic Centre in Tokyo, they published a book on this matter.
Q6. Why Alcohol is haram ?
A6. First of all its similar to pork that our Lord forbade it we have to obey Him. And secondary, Our Lord cannot forbid anything unless there is harm in it. For this reason all of us agree that when a person is drunk he\she is not in a stable mind state. And this is why in many almost all countries do not allow a drunken person to drive a car. Why? The reason is clear he will cause harm. For Allah the All-Knower HE decided to forbid drinking Alcohol to save our minds, life and property altogether in all situations and generations.
